Illustration Friday : Metropolitan 2nd entry

Imagine some ambiant chillout songs, a summer night, the smell of the road after the rain, and you're in my mind... welcome stranger! :))

in the heat of the night.

I really like the out of focus lights.. how did you do that?

Photoshop: I work in severall layers, the light is done with one brush in photoshop, it's between the plain brushes and the fade brushes, this brush is sensitiv to the tablet pressure. Choosing the size and changing colors, I put some light touch where i need lights. Here also, I worked on differents layers, all the lights looked like the cars lights and have no effects. But I added a Gaussian Blur effect to the background to get the kind of focus... hmmm, hope you understood what i meant.. :p
Well, the right thing to do is to work with differents layers for each object or plan, the you can manage the visual effects for each layer.

Yeaaaah, I agree. This would make a very good album cover. I wish I could do sumpthin like this in Photoshop. I understood the concept but never applied it in my illos. Thanks for the tips!

nice imagery. this piece had almost a jazz/blues feel to it. dont you just love the world of photoshop and all thats possible. im still putzing around figuring it out. i like this one, good job.
